Matthew 4:1–11: When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, Satan offered Him the kingdoms of the world. Jesus did not dispute that Satan held influence over them; instead, He countered the enemy’s offers with the absolute authority of God’s Word.

Part 3: The Call to Discipleship and Unwavering Trust

When the opposition is real and our hearts are aligned with God, our response must be total surrender and steadfast faith.

Mark 8:34: Discipleship demands denying self, taking up the cross, and following Jesus. Following Him means surrendering our need for control and accepting trials as part of the path.

Choosing Confidence Over Fear

Psalm 27:1–3, 13–14: David acknowledges real danger and real fear, yet chooses confidence because the Lord is his light and salvation. Waiting on the Lord requires courage when circumstances look grim.
