Meet Pastor Smith

A Journey of Faith, Service, and Purpose

Pastor Smith was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up traveling the world as a military child. With both English and German heritage, and the ability to speak both languages, his upbringing gave him a unique perspective on cultures and people. He attended Nürnberg All American High School overseas before graduating from Clover Park High School in Washington state.

After graduation, Pastor Smith enlisted in the United States Army, where he achieved high honors through his examinations and became recognized as an expert shooter. He specialized in field artillery, served faithfully in escorting captains, and worked extensively in the mailroom.

But even as he excelled in the military, God had another purpose for his life. Following a serious accident and growing concerns for his mother’s health, Pastor Smith made the life-changing decision to leave the Army and return home.

Answering the Call

Back home, Pastor Smith joined his mother’s ministry. Before he ever carried the title of pastor, he was a servant first. Whether painting walls, cleaning floors, or escorting others, he was committed to letting God show him how to serve.

It was during this time that he was ordained as a minister under the late Pastor R.J. Washington. For years, Pastor Smith faithfully supported Pastor Washington, until God revealed the next chapter of his journey: shepherding a flock of his own.

Though hesitant at first, Pastor Smith received confirmation from Pastor Washington himself, who saw the call of God on his life. After being ordained and licensed to pastor, the story began to unfold. He soon met his wife, and after three years of building a strong foundation for ministry, God blessed them with a son.

Almost Thirty Years of Ministry

Nearly three decades later, Pastor Smith and the Hosanna Christian Center ministry have reached thousands of souls with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. What began with small acts of service has blossomed into a ministry that continues to impact lives across the world.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Smith is also a gifted musician — most notably on the drums and through singing. He enjoys art, travel, sports, and cars, all while continuing to serve with humility and passion.

For Pastor Smith, ministry has never been about a title, but about a life lived in obedience to God’s call: to serve, to shepherd, and to make a difference in the lives of others.
